Ravenol is now an official partner of the BMW M Customer Racing division

Today, the BMW M Customer Racing division announced a new livery for its BMW M4 GT4 car, one that would reflect the newest partner of the company, Ravenol. The BMW officials expressed their hopes to see the new livery out for the first time, in a real race, before the end of the month, ideally at the Nurburgring Endurance Series which could take place on June 27.

Ravenol has been working extra hard to get its name out there. The company has obviously been doing great work since BMW agreed to sign a deal with them.

Not only that but, BMW M Customer Racing claims they have tested the Ravenol RSP SAE 5W-30 engine oil and the Ravenol Racing Gearoil 75W-140 differential oil in the BMW M4 GT4, and has approved both of them.

Therefore, in the future, all customer teams will find these products in the car’s manuals, and Ravenol will equip every BMW M4 GT4 sold with a starter kit, consisting of appropriate lubricants. The logo of the lubricant specialists from eastern Westphalia will also be visible on all the cars delivered.

BMW CEO Markus Flasch Didn’t Deny a Potential BMW M3 Touring

“We share the joy of competitive motorsport and the demand to consistently redefine the limits of performance with BMW M Motorsport. We all hope that VLN is able to implement its race concept in the current difficult situation, and we can all get back to dedicating ourselves to our shared passion, whilst observing all the necessary safety measures,” said Martin Huning, Director Motorsport RAVENOL.

“GT racing is a very important field for us, and we are delighted with the technical collaboration in the GT4 sector. This class of car is very close to production and offers an affordable route into GT racing. It has become a successful, long-term concept.”

Gunther finished Formula E Race at Home championship fourth

The final weekend of the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge hosted several races, with BMW drivers competing for every valuable point. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, Maximilian Gunther couldn’t catch a podium standing at the end of it all, the BMW driver coming in fourth overall in the driver’s standing. BMW i Andretti Motorsport added three podium finishes and a win this weekend thanks to the combined efforts of its drivers.

Maximilian finished third in the Drivers’ Grid races on Saturday and Sunday, completing the virtual Formula E season in fourth place in the overall standings. Then there was Alexander Sims who came in 13th in both races.

The one win BMW i Andretti Motorsport claimed came from Kevin Siggy. On Sunday, he won the Grand Final for sim races and guest drivers and went home with several prizes.

Siggy competed in the colors of BMW i Andretti Motorsport for the entire season and will be rewarded for his win with a test drive in the real Formula E car. He will also get one of the sought-after starts in the final race of the BMW SIM M2 CS Racing Cup, which will take place at the end of the year as part of the BMW SIM Live Event in Munich.

Siggy claimed second place on Saturday but was already assured of topping the overall standings after seven races, which meant that he started the Grand Final from pole position.

“It is great that I was able to round off the ‘ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge’ season with two podiums. I really enjoyed battling for the title from start to finish. Congratulations to Kevin Siggy, who gave some fantastic performances in the virtual BMW iFE.20. Congratulations to Stoffel Vandoorne as well on his overall victory in the Drivers’ Grid. Now I can hardly wait to get back to the real racetrack,” said Gunther after the race.

“I can still hardly believe that I really did it. I am unbelievably proud of this success. Lucas Müller made my life very difficult on the first lap, but after that I was able to build up a bit of a lead. Now I am so looking forward to the test drive in the real Formula E car and to taking part in the finale of the BMW SIM M2 CS Racing Cup as part of the event in Munich.

BMW M2 CS Racing Unveiled, aiming at customer racing teams

Many thanks to my Team Redline and to BMW i Andretti Motorsport for allowing me to sport their colors on the Challenge Grid. It was a real honor for me,” said Siggy when everything was said and done.

Rendering: Care for a BMW 4 Series Shooting Brake model?

The Shooting Brake niche is all but extinct today. There are some cars still carrying the shooting brake torch, yet they are so rare. However, renderings seem to be taking a very close look at this bodystyle every time a new model comes out.

With the new 4 Series being the most important launch in the car industry to take place last week, it was only natural to see it turned into a shooting brake.

The rendering seen here comes from X-Tomi Designs, the same pixel artist who created one of the first attempts at rendering the upcoming BMW G82 M4 based on the newly launched 4 Series model.

But this time, we’re looking at a BMW 4 Series Shooting Brake rendering. The only car BMW ever made that comes remotely close to the concept of a shooting brake is the Z3 clown shoe.

That might’ve served as inspiration for this rendering. The rear window here seems to have been taken off a BMW 3 Series Touring. But there are some design cues imported from the new 4 Series, such as the character line going from the front fender to the rear one.

LEAKED AGAIN: The 2021 BMW M4 (G82) shows its large kidney grille

In a nutshell, it’s an interesting proposition and gives the 4 Series a a special character. Unfortunately, this rendering will remain just an imagination exercise.

BMW will offer the new 4 Series in 4 different variants, if you count the all-electric i4 – Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe. The 4 Series Coupe will arrive this year, followed next year by the rest of the lineup.

Production BMW i4 will be ‘Very Close’ to the Concept according to officials

Video: Joe Achilles drives the iconic BMW E46 M3 CSL

The BMW E46 M3 CSL has been going through a new phase recently making a lot of appearances in recent reviews.. This has been a particularly often occurrence in the UK where the local media has been getting their hands on some quite unique classic BMWs.

The E46 M3, be it in CSL guise or not, definitely doesn’t show its age. Despite being born in 200s, somehow, it still looks modern and really good, compared to the newer models on the streets today.

The latest to put his name on the list of lucky people to drive one of these is Joe Achilles. He was fortunate enough to be invited to drive a BMW E46 M3 CSL and the video below shows his thoughts on the car itself.

Just like many of us out there, the CSL is one of Joe’s dream cars, a model he dreamed of driving for quite some time now. Luckily, dreams do come true if you work hard enough and he is now going toe to toe with his hero.

And you can tell he is going through some emotions while behind the wheel. In the video below, he is also sharing his thoughts on the way the car drives and handles.

I don’t want to spoil the video for you, but I will say that the E46 M3 CSL doesn’t disappoint. That word simply doesn’t exist in its vocabulary and I’m yet to find someone who has driven one of these and came back unimpressed.
